In 2022 I started the Creators Getting Paid newsletter, Initially envisioning a paid newsletter. Then I started having some concerns. I realized that the structure of what I was building was more of a community, building a broader experience that wasn’t just a newsletter. As things grew, I realized that the design and space of the Substack platform wasn’t going to serve the vision of what I had in mind well. Today I’m introducing you to the Creators Getting Paid Community “The Third Space” and share what to expect and around when the doors will be opening to the first community members.

The Third Space
(An Introduction)
What exactly does the name mean? It’s a nod to the idea that there’s an additional space that is welcoming to people outside of their home. Building a business online is becoming a lot more normalized. The Third Space is designed to be the home for online entrepreneurs/brand builders who’ve been building for awhile and need to be surrounded by other people who get what they’re doing and are pursuing similar goals. You’re gaining traction, you’re not earning enough money yet. Those years from 3-8, were the times when I kept hearing that I should invest in myself. I was happy to pay for coaching, conferences, tools such as courses, webinars, etc. But, it was so frustrating because it often felt like I was being encouraged to make a financial decision that could cause harm to me and benefit the creator.
The Third Space was designed with that experience in mind. Sometimes the messaging felt a little bit off. Why would a creator who’s charging a couple of grand for something try to encourage me to purchase something that I wasn’t a good fit for. The community member needs to be the right fit for product or service. I believe that there are so many great high ticket offerings out there such a coaching, courses, trips, etc. The timing just has to make sense.

My goal is to have a fun, welcoming space. Collaboration instead of competition. Focused on creating a safe space. Another thing about the name “The Third Space” I love coffee shops. I love feeling cozy, talking to random people, and oftentimes I’m working on my business. The Third Space-is where you’re seen. I love coffee shops the way that people love breweries in Denver.
What About Coaching
I actually don’t do a lot of 1-on-1 coaching because I love working with groups (a remnant from the time that I worked with international students at a university) I will have a few spots open for 1-on-1 coaching 4 weeks at a time.
How to Join?
- The doors won’t always be open.
- I want to thoughtfully onboard people

In-Person Event
I’m in the beginning stages of planning an in-person event to be held in Denver, Colorado in 2027. The Third Space is a paid community, the newsletter has no paywall as a result.
