The Brand Building Lab Group Coaching Program

The Brand Building Lab Group Coaching Program

When I first started working for myself I was making $15 a project and I was so excited about it. I didn’t know what I didn’t know about creating services, the difference between being self-employed vs. an entrepreneur and the impact of my money mindset on my fledgling business.

I will admit that I have thought about coaching on and off for the past 3 years. Yes, three years. In fact, I had an incredible business coach who I worked with three years ago who continues to be baffled by the delay in launching my program. I had…some doubts. Did I have the energy to be as present as I felt I needed to be to coach affectively? What did I truly want to create a coaching program around? This was a question that I would ask myself and play around with for several years. Instead, I decided to go with the flow and keep working on the projects that I connected with.

Then, COVID hit. I found myself in complete alignment in terms of the type of content I wanted to share, the projects I wanted to work on and attract and the people I wanted to collaborate with. COVID, as painful as it has been, clarified my purpose. I wanted to work with burnt out professionals looking to design values driven lives with online businesses that served through an equity lens. In fact, for the past couple of years I found myself being reached out to over and over again to coach clients on a one on one basis. This was something that I didn’t advertise. But, it happened so often that it validated how I would be of service to others and what they wanted to learn from me. Listen on to discover how you can become a part of The Brand Building Lab, my group coaching program for burnt out professionals growing online businesses that serve.

Qube Money

When I first started my business, my finances were a mess. I was paying off debt and just trying to hustle until my business grew. I tried everything to keep my finances in order ranging from using online money management platforms, spreadsheets and the envelope system. This year I discovered Qube Money which is a digital envelope system paired with a debit card. You deposit your money into an FDIC insured account and then can spend based on dedicated Qubes that you’ve created within the app. If you’re paying for tools such as Flodesk for your emails, Thinkific to host your courses and coaching programs, or Deskpass for your coworking access, Qube keeps you organized and can be one of your dedicated business accounts. I’m a proud affiliate of Qube Money, check out the link that I share in the show notes.

Show Notes

  • I was not a natural entrepreneur when I started working online. In fact, I was very much self-employed and pretty happy about it…until I wasn’t. Doing projects for clients was not the problem, but how I positioned myself as a professional was an issue.
  • And I was increasingly unhappy with relaying so much on client based work. Let’s be clear, I did it all but I couldn’t really say “no” to the projects offered to me.
    • Low balled freelance writing projects.
    • Dealing with unreasonable client demands and being afraid to say “no” because I needed the money.
    • Having no idea what my strengths were and how to share them
  • Then I found myself going down a rabbit hole trying to figure out what in hell could I sell? And found myself return to the following questions:
    • How can I maximize my earnings with the time that I have?
    • What products make sense for me to offer?
    • Will these products even sell?
    • Is this going to be complicated to do?
    • I only have so much money to invest in this…how do I invest wisely?
  • Because I was still paying off debt, I had to choose wisely when making investments in growing my business.
    • What courses to take?
    • How to access coaching?
    • What books to read?
    • What communities to be a part of?
      • Such as Mastermind groups
  • Slowly but surely I began creating products and services
    • Ebooks both non-fiction and fiction
    • Make Money with Ebooks (my signature course)
    • Money on the Mountain 3 day in-person event
    • Freelance writing
    • One on One Coaching
    • Speaking as a service
  • Then I had to figure out how to grow my media presence with no budget.
  • Around this time I got a coach. She was wonderful. But, I wasn’t energetically in alignment to implament all of her guidance and tips. Why? Imposter Syndrome.
  • It would take 3 more years to work my way out of Imposter Syndrome and it was a humbling process.
  • By the time I’d worked my way out of Imposter Syndrome I:
    • Understood the value that I provided to my clients
    • Was fierce about pricing.
    • Had experienced consistent results in all of the different areas of my business.
    • Wasn’t conceited, was convinced, about moving forward and sharing that wisdom with others. Because I kept finding myself helping other entrepreneurs with their business.
