Predictions for 2025

What Do I Think Will Happen in the Content Creation Space this Year

  • Malicious litigation-People forcing themselves into different communities that weren’t built with them in mind. Ideally, with the end result of the community having to shut down as a result of the litigation.

  • Drop in Social Media usage-Both by regular users of platforms and creators

  • Shift to in-person connections-In order to build trust, we need to see you in-person. In 2024, I attended a couple of those events and even wrote case studies about them.

  • Companies experimenting with AI as a way to minimize staffing and increase profit
    • Will 2025 be the year when the conversation around Intellectual Property/ideation and AI is actually had
    • I think that in-house teams will also grow as well because Google is signaling that it’s penalizing freelance experts who work with different companies.

  • Increasing conversations around media literacy and truth-The real question that we’ll be asking is “What is Truth”

  • Companies moving away from DEI and seeing a drop in partnership engagement due to
    • Mistakes in messaging
    • Lack of connection to the audience
      • Companies will discover who actually pays their bills when they make hamfisted moves.

  • Companies doubling down on DEI-but in less obvious ways

  • Creators will begin shifting to building a better brand eco-system-focused on what they can control
    • Websites
    • Podcasts
    • YouTube channels
    • Email lists
    • Newsletters

  • Rising to the moment that we’re currently in-There will be a number of content creators who have been quietly building:
    • Inclusive communities
    • Teaching history that would be hard to find
    • Empower individuals who otherwise wouldn’t be empowered.
      • This is the moment that people will truly need your expertise, support and encouragement.
